The client has a vast space in the rear garden with existing mature trees and woodland edge planting along the boundaries which had been neglected for some time and required a general overhaul.
The design concept divides the long space into two to create exciting and multi-functional outdoor rooms with surprising factors at the rear of the garden.
The front part of the rear garden includes the straight lines of perennials and grass planting beds to add clarity and definition to the existing woodland edge planting along the boundaries. The new children play area as a temporary space is hidden as with a line of the pleached trees and ornamental grasses not to distract the view of the garden from the house.
The furthest part of the rear garden aims to engage the family in harvesting of their own food as includes fruit trees, herbs and vegetables in raised beds as well as exciting design elements such as water table, wooden storage, fire pit, seating area, shed and compost bin to elimate organic waste and reduce pollution.
The central foot path will provide a strong link between the house and the rear of the garden while creating a pleasant journey within the space. Eye catching sculpture and seating area will be waiting at the end of this journey as a final point of the destination.
