Finsbury Park, London
The client was looking for softer lines and curves in their rear garden against a collection of very clean cut straight lines and angles of their house. They requested to maximise the planted area in the garden, and create depth through planting from front to back. The client had a very small budget for these works.
Our design proposal included a winding path with a ‘loose’ feel to the planting that suggested a wilder more rambling and organic feel. The path ended with a seating feature which attracts the late afternoon sun. Plum espalier trees have been proposed at the back which will hide the rear wall eventually when they get more mature. Carefully placed plantings helped to accentuate the snaking of the path through this small garden and boost the illusion that the garden is larger and deeper than it really is.
