Nilufer Danis is an experienced Chartered Landscape Architect (CMLI) and the multi award – winning garden designer with 15 years’ work experience specialising in private, public and commercial projects such as domestic gardens, urban squares, public realms, housing developments, schools and parks. She is the founder of Lotus Design Studio, based in London.
Originally from Turkey, Nilufer moved to the UK in 2000, after completing her BS in Landscape Architecture. She continued her education, completing a garden design course at Harrow College, an MA at the University of Greenwich and Landscape Institute Chartership.
Nilufer won a gold medal and best in the show in the low-cost high impact gardens category at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2012 for “Our First Home, Our First Garden”. This was her first competition entry. Nilufer’s success was repeated again in 2014 at the same show, winning a Gold medal in the conceptual gardens category with her garden “Wrath- Eruption of Unhealed Anger”. She continued her success with winning a gold medal and best world garden award for her garden called, Turkish Garden of Paradise at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2015 which received critical acclaim from the media and press.
Nilufer’s planting works have been recognised with Best Presentation Award for Hartley Botanic trade stand at Chelsea Flower Show 2013. In the following year, her design and planting works for the same firm have been rewarded again with Best Trade Stand Award at Chelsea Flower Show 2014.
Her latest important international design project is ‘The AIPH Community Garden’ for 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition, providing all aspects of landscape design services (master planning to detailing and consultancy) for AIPH and Taichung City Government.
She is passionate about landscape, contemporary garden design and sustainable built environment and is always looking for challenges that allow her creativity to flourish.
